Privacy Policy
Under the Data Protection Act 2018, the UK’s implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), everyone responsible for using personal data has to follow strict rules called ‘data protection principles’.
They must make sure the information is: used fairly, lawfully and transparently.
What information do we collect?
In order to provide a service to you we have to collect certain information. This includes your name, address, contact details and date of birth.
In addition we complete a consultation form detailing relevant medical information about you, any problems or issues you may wish to address through massage therapy and a treatment plan. Without this information it would not be possible to offer you our services.
How is your data kept?
Consultation and treatment documents are kept on a password protected secure online system that only I can access. Contact details may also be kept on my mobile phone and/or personal computer.
We do not share any client information with any other individual, organisation or company, unless required to by law or requested by yourself. We will not, without your express written permission, use any of your information for marketing or promotional activities.
What are your rights?
Under the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to find out what information is stored about you. These include the right to:
- be informed about how your data is being used
- access personal data
- have incorrect data updated
- have data erased
- stop or restrict the processing of your data
- data portability (allowing you to get and reuse your data for different services)
- object to how your data is processed in certain circumstances
Limitations
We may need to maintain records for some time if required by law. In addition our insurance policy requires us to keep records for 7 years.
Complaints
If you think your data has been misused or it has not kept secure, you should first contact us to outline your concerns.
